Balanced Insight Consensus® Integrator for CA ERwin® Data Modeler Released

CINCINNATI, OH – AUGUST 31 – 2005 – Balanced Insight today announced the release of the Balanced Insight Consensus® Integrator for ERwin. The already-robust stature of the Balanced Insight Consensus® platform has made significant inroads with Balanced Insight’s customers who are looking to bring a common language between their IT and business users. The launch of the Balanced Insight Consensus® Integrator for ERwin will make organizations even more empowered to bring semblance, understanding and agreement upon data and business definitions.

“We continue to evolve the Balanced Insight Consensus® product line with a set of integrators to enable the generation of expected data models within data management tools,” notes Tom Hammergren, president and CEO of Balanced Insight. “With this release of our Balanced Insight Consensus® Integrator, users can, at the press of a button, generate expected relational database models into ERwin."

With this release of Balanced Insight Consensus®, the labor-intensive process of defining, architecting, and developing logical models and their associated physical/dimensional models — becomes highly automated, making the resulting information more trusted, more usable, and more valued. Balanced Insight Consensus® becomes the assistant to the database modeler by taking the requirements captured by the business intelligence analyst and automatically generating the associated logical and physical/dimensional ERwin models. The Balanced Insight Consensus® Integrator generates the expected relational database structures along with Kimball Dimensional Modeling characteristics within the physical model. As a value add, the ERwin diagrams are also color coded to enable data modelers and observers to better understand the purpose of each entity generated from Balanced Insight Consensus® into the ERwin model.

This additional functionality adds to that already found within the Balanced Insight Consensus® Integrator module. Currently support exists for industry standard relational database DDL (data definition language) enabling interfacing to IBM DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Sybase Adaptive Server, Teradata, as well as others; Common Warehouse Model (CWM) and XML Metadata Interchange (XMI) format to support various modeling, business intelligence, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) tools supporting this industry standard; and the Pentaho Business Intelligence Platform.
