Powerful Balanced Insight Consensus® Platform Launched
Software Brings New Level of Trust, Lower Support Costs To BI Development Process.
CINCINNATI, OHIO – November 1, 2004 – Balanced Insight today announced the launch of Balanced Insight Consensus®, a powerful new collaboration and process automation tool that helps companies extract more value from their business intelligence and performance management applications.
Balanced Insight Consensus® is the culmination of four years of research, development and customer feedback. Balanced Insight launched the beta version last July at Cinergy Corp., a Cincinnati-based utility and energy services company, as part of a larger enterprise-wide data stewardship program. The Cinergy stewardship program was established to complement a larger enterprise data management initiative to improve data accuracy and quality associated with both its management and enterprise financial management project endeavors.
The consumer interface allows entire enterprises to view content managed by Balanced Insight Consensus® – including the ability to integrate to key portal technologies. This will allow customers to build their own custom interfaces for searching, navigating, and contributing additional content to their sites.
The content managed by Balanced Insight Consensus® includes business terminology and business intelligence artifacts — including Information Package Method artifacts as detailed in Data Warehousing: Building the Corporate Knowledgebase ISBN: 1850328560, written by Balanced Insight president and CEO Tom Hammergren. This method is centered around building out semantics as it relates to business requirements and behavioral design to help bridge the gap between business and IT. Specifically, Consensus® gets all parties agreeing on data and business definitions, promoting those definitions throughout the organization, and rapidly publishing those definitions into the business intelligence and reporting systems. The result is a semantically-robust, enterprise business intelligence solution.
